At the Health Specialist Centre, our dedicated team of doctors, specialists, nurses, physiotherapists, imaging professionals, laboratory staff and support personnel works together to provide comprehensive, patient-centred care.

Across our clinics at Moto‘otua, Vaitele and Salelologa, we offer accessible and affordable general practice, specialist consultations, diagnostic services, rehabilitation, nursing care and ongoing management of chronic conditions. LeMamea Dr Limbo Fiu

Cardiology

Lemamea Dr Limbo Fiu is a former Medical Superintendent and Physician at Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital. He has been with the Health Specialist Centre since its establishment.

Dr Fiu provides specialist cardiology consultations, performs cardiac echocardiograms and interprets ECGs. If heart disease is suspected, your doctor may refer you to Dr Fiu for further assessment and management.

Pule Dr Viali Lameko

General Practitioner/Public Health

Pule Dr Viali Lameko graduated from the Fiji School of Medicine in 1999 and obtained a Master of International Public Health from the University of Sydney in 2007. He is an experienced medical practitioner, public-health physician, medical educator and researcher.

Dr Lameko provides general medical consultations at the Health Specialist Centre, with a particular interest in the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases, including diabetes, hypertension and obesity. He has also held senior academic leadership positions in medical education and contributed extensively to health research in Samoa. Health Specialist Centre

Dr Miracle Posini

General Practitioner/ Immigration Medical

Dr Miracle Posini graduated from Fiji National University in 2016. She subsequently gained nine years of experience in Samoa’s public health service, including four years as a registrar in the Medical Department.

Dr Posini provides comprehensive general medical care for adults and children, including health assessments and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic illnesses. She is also an approved panel physician for New Zealand immigration medical examinations.

Dr Lautofa Pulotu McCarthy

General Practitioner/ENT Specialist

Pulotu Dr Lautofa Pulotu McCarthy is an experienced Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist with extensive clinical experience in Samoa and Papua New Guinea.

At the Health Specialist Centre, Dr Pulotu assesses and treats conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, sinuses, voice and hearing. Patients experiencing persistent ear problems, hearing difficulties, nasal or sinus symptoms, throat conditions or voice changes may consult him at the HSC Vaitele Clinic for specialist assessment and management.

Miss Emily Fruean

Physiotherapist

Emily Fruean graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. After graduating, she gained valuable clinical experience as a rotational physiotherapist at Dunedin Hospital before returning to Samoa.

At the Health Specialist Centre, Emily assesses and treats patients experiencing pain, injury, reduced mobility or difficulty performing everyday activities. She provides personalised rehabilitation and exercise programmes to restore movement, improve strength and function, and enhance patients’ independence and quality of life.

Dr Josephine Taituave

General Practitioner

Dr Josephine Taituave is an experienced physician specialising in internal medicine. She previously worked at Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital, including in the Intensive Care Unit, and currently practises with the Peace Corp group.

At the Health Specialist Centre, Dr Taituave works part-time and provides comprehensive medical assessment and care for adults. Her work includes diagnosing and managing complex medical conditions and chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, heart and respiratory diseases. She takes a thorough, patient-centred approach to treatment and ongoing care.
